Six Bearcats Represent on Senior Bowl Watch List

Let me start this post off by saying that the writer had no idea there was a watch list for the Senior Bowl. That statement is followed up by the fact that 6 Cincinnati Bearcat football players were named to said Senior Bowl watch list. The 6 players are Silverberry Mouhon, Adrian Witty, Parker Ehinger and then the big three returning receivers: Shaq Washington, Mekale McKay and Chris Moore.

Cincinnati’s history of players in the Senior Bowl doesn’t run deep. Jeff Luc was on the team last season, as a replacement I believe. Before that, UC didn’t have a player in the Senior Bowl since Derek Wolfe and Isaiah Pead made the 2012 squad. Mardy Gilyard represented in 2010.

The history of Bearcats participating in the Senior Bowl and ending up in the NFL is great. The sample size is extremely small, but Gilyard was drafted before bouncing around. Pead ended up being drafted by the Rams and is somehow still on their roster despite not playing a lot. He did tear his ACL a year ago. Derek Wolfe is a fine player, albeit currently suspended, for the Denver Broncos. Jeff Luc is currently on the Miami Dolphins roster as an undrafted free agent with a chance to break camp with the team.

Even if the six listed, part of 350 players on the watch list, don’t get drafted, this will certainly elevate their stock. Eyes are eyes. Being noticed is being noticed. All it takes is one team to fall in love with you to end up on a roster. These six Bearcats are being given a little more spotlight to help the cause.
