Today, the Philadelphia 76ers announced that they have signed point guard Larry Drew II to a second 10-day contract. His first 10-day contract with the team expired on Sunday.
With the Sixers thus far, he has played in six games and is averaging 4.7 points and 4.3 assists in 18.7 minutes per game. Drew II will see more playing time as the Sixers lost guard Tony Wroten to a torn ACL. This season, in the NBA D-League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Drew II averaged a double-double consisting of 11 points and 10 rebounds per game.
His biggest accomplishment of the season came on Christmas Day against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, where he dished out a D-League single game record 23 assists. That single performance put him on NBA teams’ radars and also earned him D-League Performer of the Week honors for Dec. 22-Dec. 28.
Tonight, when the Sixers take on the New Orleans Pelicans, Drew II will get the start tonight as Michael Carter-Williams is out with an illness.
