If the most recent Hall of Fame Eras Committee vote has taught us anything, it’s this…anything can (and will) happen.
And as the Twitterverse continues to teach us every day…you never know where the hottest takes are going to come from.
For example, one would’ve never thought Smash Mouth would be hitting up social media to give the San Francisco Giants advice on filling out their coaching staff.
Yet, here we are.
Yoooo @SFGiants Jeffrey Leonard is coaching youth baseball. He did an amazing job as Manager in the minor league system, a true players Manager. Can we get him in the dang Giants system please? In uniform as a coach! Thanks! @KNBR

That’s right, the rockers that penned the (near) chart-topping hit “All-Star” back in 1999 are advocating for two-time All-Star Jeffrey Leonard to get back in the dugout for the Giants.
Why not?
A quick refresher, the “HacMan” spent parts of eight seasons in black and orange. While with San Francisco, he hit .275 with 139 doubles and 99 home runs in 789 games.
This isn’t the first time, the Bay Area band has reached out to their home team and likely won’t be the last. Prior to the 2017 season, they invited then-prospect Tyler Beede (aka Young Beedah) to join them on an upcoming album.
