The final stop of Sneaker Con was held Sunday in NYC. The travelling Sneaker tour was held at the newly renovated Basketball City on South Street in NYC space. The show featured over 100 vendors with an wide assortment of sneaker related goods. Adidas Originals had NBA Shot Blocking Legend Dikembe Mutombo as a guest to reintroduce the upcoming retro of his signature sneaker. The show was packed from the start. A mile long line formed outside of the building. Highlights of the show included a customized pair of the Nike Air Mag “McFlys”. The show also featured tons of goods recent Nike Lebron, Kobe, and KD releases. There wasn’t much in the way of other brands or older releases. It was a bit of a microcosm of the current state of over hyped Sneaker Game. Overall the event was great. I even saw a vintage Celtics Chauncy Billups Jersey.
