Some Football-Related Press Releases For Your Monday

I just realized that next week is Thanksgiving. You know how I realized that? When CBS sent me a press release on the SEC games it will broadcast next weekend. This month is flying by.

So without further ado, here are some press releases that have flown into my inbox and I’ll begin with the release regarding the SEC on CBS.

CBS Sports has announced its college football game for Friday, Nov. 28 (2:30-6:00 PM, ET) which will feature No. *18-ranked LSU at Arkansas. Don Criqui and Dan Fouts will call the contest.

On Saturday, Nov. 29 CBS Sports broadcasts a college football doubleheader. Georgia Tech vs. *No. 13-ranked Georgia kicks off the day (12:00 NOON, ET). Craig Bolerjack and Trev Alberts call the action. The second game features Auburn at *No. 1-ranked Alabama(3:30 PM, ET). Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson and Tracy Wolfson call the game.

All games will be available in HDTV.

Next, NBC says last night’s Cowboys-Redskins game scored in the ratings.

13.5 Overnight Rating Second Highest of Season for SNF; Dominated Head-to-Head Competition
NEW YORK – November 17, 2008 - The Dallas Cowboys 14-10 victory over the Washington Redskins on "NBC Sunday Night Football," delivered a 13.5 overnight rating and 20 share (8:30-11:15 p.m. ET), a 25 percent gain over last season's Patriots Bills game (10.8/17) on the comparable week.  The SNF game easily won its head-to-head competition including defeating Desperate Housewives on ABC by 32 percent (13.5 vs. 10.2).

Last night's rating opened at a 13.3/20 at 8:30 p.m. ET and never dipped lower than a 13.1/30. It peaked between 10:00 and 10:30 p.m. ET at a 13.7/21.
