Let’s go to what the ESPN family of networks is showing in regards to college football. Bob Griese returns to the network after a one week suspension for his taco comment. The game will be Northwestern at Iowa.

College Football: Lou Holtz to Call ESPN College Football Primetime Game with Son Skip Holtz’s ECU Pirates Hosting Va. Tech Hokies; Telecasts of Four Undefeated Teams

The ESPN Thursday night telecast Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. will feature the Saturday afternoon commentator team of Rece Davis, Lou Holtz and Mark May working No. 23 Virginia Tech at East Carolina, which is coached by Holtz’ son, Skip. It will mark the first time Holtz has called a game involving a team coached by his son.

ESPN’s college football coverage this week will be highlighted by telecasts featuring four of the remaining seven undefeated teams:

• No. 1 Florida against Vanderbilt Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. on ESPN2;
• No. 4 Iowa against Northwestern Saturday, Nov. 7, at noon on ESPN;
• No. 5 Cincinnati against Connecticut Saturday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. on ABC;
• No. 7 Boise State at Louisiana Tech Friday, Nov. 6, at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.

Additional highlights include a showdown between ranked Big Ten programs: No. 16 Ohio State at No. 11 Penn State on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.

CBS has selected its games for an SEC doubleheader on November 14.

CBS Sports will broadcast an SEC doubleheader on Saturday, Nov. 14 (12:00 NOON-3:30 PM, ET and 3:30-7:00 PM, ET). Tennessee vs. O
le Miss kicks off the day (12:00 NOON, ET). Craig Bolerjack and Steve Beuerlein call the action.

The second game features *No. 1-ranked Florida at South Carolina. Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson will call the contest, along with reporter Tracy Wolfson (3:30 PM, ET).

Both games will be broadcast in high definition.

CBS COLLEGE SPORTS NETWORK’s THE TONY BARNHART SHOW, a new weekly one-hour primetime college football talk show, features a second visit from political strategist and LSU fan James Carville, plus former Michigan and New York Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer and CBS Sports’ Spencer Tillman and Tim Brando on Tuesday, Nov. 3 (9:00 PM, ET).

“Mr. College Football,” Tony Barnhart, hosts the show along with Brian Jones. The hard-hitting program debates and analyzes the hot topics and issues facing college football both on and off-the-field. This week Barnhart and Jones along with Toomer, look at the strength of the Big Ten conference.

Throughout the season Barnhart will invite a variety of high-profile guests from the college football community, including coaches, administrators, writers, broadcasters and former players to the program. The distinguished guests will offer in-depth, lively, opinionated, topical discussions on the world of college football.
