Some Telling Stats From the Last 30 Days

You cannot blame the Red Sox free fall on any one player, some however are more responsible for the September collapse than others.  Here are some of the ugly stats from the last 30 days.

  • Salty has had one walk and 30 K’s.  His batting average over the last month is at .167.
  • Tek hasn’t looked much better at the plate; he batted .133
  • Carl Crawford has been held to 1 stolen base in 2 attempts in the last month.
  • Opposing batters have hit .298 against Jon Lester.
  • Batters have hit .339 against Lackey who sports an ERA of 8.22 in the last 30 days.  During this period he has walked 16 while striking out 17.
  • Daniel Bard has an ERA of 9.90 and a WHIP of 1.70, he has walked 9 while striking out 11.
  • Bedard has a WHIP of 1.85 and opposing hitters batted .298 against him.

The Red Sox still control their own destiny.  If they win the next two games and a tie-breaker they are in the playoffs and all of the ugly stats above will not matter, but the Red Sox have not won back to back games in a month.
