So, the Blackburn Rovers are on the verge of relegation. And by “on the verge” I mean, they have one more EPL game left, tomorrow morning, and then they are done. They will play at the second level next season. That is so depressing.
The local fans of Blackburn have almost completely lost it. They have been protesting the continued employment of Manager Steve Kean before every game. They have purchased planes with banners pleading for Kean to go. Now, they have taken out their frustration on Indian owners Venky’s.
Kean and the Venky’s era have been a disaster. Recently, fans of Blackburn, no fans of Venky’s, let a chicken loose on the field (Venky’s works in the chicken industry) to show that they were, in fact, messing up the product on the field.
As a comparison: In Minnesota, fans and sports writers are protesting the players, rather than the guys who put the the Twins together or try to get them to play well. I think the Twins would at least be interesting this season if we could get together some sort of protest, right? Someone get the chickens!
