Kravitz is trying to sniff it out
So what should he do?
He should do what’s best for Dwight Freeney. Not what’s best for the Indianapolis Colts, but what’s best for his health and his future. It’s his body, his pain, his risk. The fact is, an unstable ankle that is no longer protected by a full complement of ligaments is at risk of fracturing.
This should not — repeat, NOT — be some kind of moratorium on Freeney’s toughness or his warrior spirit. All of these players put their bodies on the line every day they play this vicious game. If he doesn’t play, it’s because he has done a sober risk/benefit analysis and determined there is too much downside.
And that’s a decision that must be accepted and respected.
