Soto, Cubs get their revenge on Suppan, Brewers: 19-5

The Cubs sent ten batters to the plate in the first inning Wednesday night…and since only one was stranded, the Cubs had a 6-0 lead after one.
And it didn’t get any better.
In both the 6-run first and the 5-run fourth, Cubs’ catcher Geovanny Soto pounded a 3-run home run–first off of Brewers’ starter Jeff Suppan and then another off of Brewers’ reliever Brian Shouse.
Brewers’ starter Jeff Suppan was just plain awful–3 2/3rds IP, 11 hits, 11 runs (8 earned) and only one K. Seth McClung did fan 5 in 3 IP…but also walked 4 and gave up an earned run.
Derrick Turnbow came in to work the 8th–4 walks, 4 hits, and 6 ER later, Yost had to yank him…he managed to get two outs. Turnbow’s ERA for the year now sits at 15.63.
Ryan Braun had 3 RBI’s, while Mike Rivera drove in the other 2 on his first homer of the year.
Day game tomorrow…Gallardo vs. Zambrano…to determine who takes the series.
