As the Arena Football League offseason continues the Philadelphia Soul main goal is looking at how they can upgrade the offense to get back to the Arena Bowl. On Monday, they took another step closer to that goal as they signed former Pittsburgh Power wide receiver Shaun Kauleinamoku.
With the Soul signing the likes of Kauleinamoku, it bodes well for the offense as he is a playmaker. Last season with the Power, SK had a career year catching 124 passes for 1,359 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns. The 5-foot-9 wide receiver has got better each season since his first year in 2010 with the Spokane Shock.
Soul head coach Clint Dolezel had this to say about Kauleinamoku:
“SK’ is a dynamic player that gives us an added dimension on offense.” “His versatility, ability to stretch a defense and toughness will definitely be a welcomed addition to our group of receivers.”
Kauleinamoku is not the only wide receiver the Soul has signed this offseason. They also signed Jarrel Kerrey, Xavier Boyce and SK’s teammate Tyrone Goard. Then on Dec. 29, the Soul acquired Philadelphia native Dominique Curry from the San Jose Sabercats. With the amount of weapons that the Soul have on offense they should be competing for the Arena Bowl this upcoming season.
