The South Carolina Gamecocks are heading back to Atlanta and the Georgia Dome to take on the Florida State Seminoles in the Chick-fil-a Bowl.
As we wrote yesterday, this was the likely spot for Carolina given all the factors. USC’s last appearance in this game was back in 1969. With everything considered this is a great spot for South Carolina and a great foe to take on to acquire the 10th win.
The Gamecocks are currently 9-4 and coming off a 56-17 loss to Auburn in the SEC Championship game Saturday night. Florida State lost to Virginia Tech 44-33 in the ACC Championship game. The Seminoles are also 9-4 this season. The game will be the first meeting with Florida State since Nov. 9, 1991.
Talking money, the cumulative team payout for the 2010 game in the Dome is $6.7 million, meaning each team will receive approximately $3.35 million apiece.
Kickoff for the 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
