Sox beat Yanks With Pitching and the Help of an Error!

The Red Sox and the Yankees faced off for the first time in Spring Training and the Sox squeaked away with a win on a fielding error from the Yanks. It was a well pitched game from both sides. The Yankees had Nova, Rivera and Phelps throwing up zeroes on the scoreboard. The Red Sox started Felix Doubront who is in the mix for the 4th or 5th starting spot. Doubront showed himself off well, pitching 4 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits, 1 BB and 3 Ks. Doubront was also followed by some pretty nice pitching. Bowden pitched a scoreless inning while striking out 3, Padilla pitched 3 scoreless innings while striking out 4 and Tazawa got the save with a scoreless inning while striking out 3.

The difference in the game was a hit and then 2 fielding errors from the Yankees. Pedro Ciriaco hit a single, advanced to 3rd on a fielding error in right field and was able to come home on a throwing error to home. In my mind, I still like to call it an inside the park HR.
