Sox Get Beaten Up Again By Mariners

The Red Sox often struggle on the west coast trip, but they are taking the struggle to a new level this time around.  Peavy was on the mound for the Sox and this time was not the problem of him not getting run support, but him giving up run after run after run.

The Mariners took an early lead in the 1st inning when Peavy gave up an RBI double to Seager and an RBI sac fly to Morrison.  Sox 0-2.  In the 2nd the Mariners went up 3-0 when Peavy gave up an RBI triple to Chavez.  The Sox finally got on the board in the 4th inning when the legend that is Brock Holt hit a 2 run HR.  Sox 2-4.  Unfortunately that would be the only runs that the Sox would score and Peavy was not done giving up runs in his outing.  In the 5th Peavy gave up a 3 run HR to Seager and then a solo HR to Zunino.  Sox 2-7.

Peavy was done after 5 innings and new reliever Felix Doubront was in the game.  Doubront pitched a scoreless 6th and 7th innings before handing the ball over to Edward Mujica.  Mujica continued his season of struggle by allowing an RBI single to Miller.  Sox 2-8.  The Red Sox had no rally in their bones and once again suffered a loss with little to no offense and some poor pitching.
