An eight game streak of losing is finally over for the up and down Red Sox as they defeated the Detroit Tigers 2-1 Friday night thanks to Xander Bogaerts singling up through the diamond allowing the game winning run to cross home which ended the game. The 11th inning was a battle for both teams since this was a very low scoring game which can last for many more innings. Justin Masterson earned his 4th win as this win gave life and joy among Boston fans everywhere. Hopefully this win can give encouragement to the Red Sox to continue winning instead of losing.
