Sox Lose 0-1 Behind Another Great Start By Morales

Franklin Morales took the mound for the Red Sox and had himself a tremendous outing, however he was also up against Felix Hernandez who pitched a complete game shutout to have the Sox lose 0-1 in the 9th inning.

Franklin Morales is continuing to show just how talented he is while he is in the rotation for Beckett who is on the DL.   Morales went toe to toe with King Felix throwing up zero after zero on the scoreboard.  In 7 innings pitched, Morales only gave up 3 hits and 2 walks.  Morales threw a season high 109 pitches and in really is looking like a legit starting pitcher.  Andrew Miller came out and pitched a 7 pitch 1-2-3 inning in the 8th and then with the game still tied 0-0 they handled the ball over to Scott Atchison.  Unfortunately, Atchy allowed the one and only run to score and the Mariners walked off with a win.  Atchy gave up a double to Wells and then they intentionally walked Smoak to put the DL in play.  However, Jaso would hit a single to RF.  Cody Ross made a great throw to the plate that would have had Wells out, however Salty was not able to hold onto the ball and Jaso scored the walkoff run.

Red Sox 0 Mariners 1 BOXSCORE

WP: Hernandez (6-5)  LP:  Atchison (2-1)
