Spend the Fourth with the Titans

Titans Radio and 104-5 The Zone are teaming up to rebroadcast eight Titans games on July 4. The first game will air beginning at 5:00 a.m. Central Time and the final game will begin at 5:00 p.m. Fan voting will determine which game will be featured as the grand finale. Cast your ballot between now and noon Tuesday at the 104-5 The Zone website, where you can also listen live. Fans in middle Tennessee can listen at 104.5 FM as well.
The following eight games will be re-aired on the 4th:

  • 1999 Super Bowl XXXIV vs Rams
  • 1999 Music City Miracle vs Bills
  • 2006 comeback win vs Giants
  • 2002 playoffs vs Steelers
  • 2003 playoffs at Ravens
  • 2002 comeback win at Giants
  • 1999 Coliseum opener vs Bengals
  • 2006 60-yard field goal win vs Colts

I’m a little disappointed the playoff wins against the Colts and Jaguars in the Super Bowl run aren’t included, especially the championship game at Jacksonville. The Titans o-line completely dominated the Jags in the second half, running the ball down their throats, and there wasn’t a thing they could do to stop it. It was the third win of the season over the Jags, which later prompted Jeff Fisher to claim the team had played in five homes in the last four years, if you included Jacksonville’s Alltel Field.
In other news, I’m encouraged by the latest move to beef up the scouting at both the pro and college levels. For years, the Titans have had less scouts than most other teams, which has long been a sore spot with me.
Those of you who follow The Tennessean’s coverage of the Titans have probably noticed a lot of recent articles by Jessica Hopp. She’s been filling in while Paul Kuharsky was on vacation and Jim Wyatt is recuperating from an accident. Jim fell off a ladder while painting and broke both wrists, which has left him with casts on both arms. He’s in good spirits and looking forward to being back to work in time for training camp. Jim’s still doing his weekly radio show on 104.5.
