The Bills have finally agreed to terms with firs-round draft pick C.J. Spiller.
It is about damn time. This is the second year in a row that Buffalo’s first pick has been tardy for training camp.
Now that Spiller has arrived at camp I am interested to see how involved he gets during the last few pad sessions Chan Gailey has. I think it is important to get the kid into a contact setting as soon as possible.
I’m excited to see Spiller play. I hate Clemson but always appreciated his big-play ability. However, I never thought the Bills would draft him. He was one of those, “God I’d love if he played for Buffalo, but we need a tackle/quarterback so bad” kind of guys.
Either way Spiller is inked for the next five seasons. I stand by my opinion that he and Marshawn Lynch could become one of the best running back tandems in the league. Of course Fred Jackson might not have a down year at all and I’ll be forced to eat some crow. However, my money is still on Lynch to bounce back this season and join forces with Spiller to form a scary backfield attack.
