Trent Edwards was featured as one of SI’s top breakout quarterbacks. In the Sports Illustrated NFL Preview issue out today Edwards is listed third in a list of 5 young quarterbacks SI believes should have a breakout season. SI is obviously taking into account all the weapons Trent will have at his disposal.
Edwards is going to be apart of an experiment for the regular season in regards to believing the hype if preseason matters or not. I can’t remember the last time fans have turned on a QB after watching him struggle in exhibition games. If Edwards doesn’t struggle it will once and for all dismiss the notion that preseason matters. If he struggles, preseason still doesn’t matter.
