With the D-League draft tomorrow night, the Springfield Armor–affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets–swung a pretty notable deal to obtain a 2013 draft pick of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Springfield, as part of a three-team deal, sent former Net Ben Uzoh and the #3 pick in Friday's draft to the Iowa Energy in exchange for Lorenzo Brown and the #6 pick. Brown was picked 52nd overall in the June NBA draft by Minnesota, but was waived by the Timberwolves on October 25th. Uzoh, a Tulsa product, played 43 games for the Nets in the 2010-11 season but never sustained much success at the NBA level.
Springfield also announced a bunch of other players who will be on the team when the D-League season starts later in November: Gary Forbes (played in the preseason for the Nets), Adonis Thomas (signed recently by the Nets), Jeff Foote, Willie Reed, Dennis Horner, JamesOn Curry, and L.D. Williams. Toko Shengalia, Mason Plumlee, and Tyshawn Taylor are all still with the Nets right now, but are other player who may end up with Springfield at some point.
