After news came out last week that San Antonio Spurs rookie Kawhi Leonard may join a slew of NBA players heading to Las Vegas for an interim league known as Impact Basketball during the NBA lockout, another Spurs players name has surfaced to be apart of the league.
Last season’s rookie, James Anderson will be apart of the league according to Hoops World.
Many of the players that have been working out at Impact this summer are expected to play in the league. That includes Chauncey Billups, Corey Maggette, Al Harrington, J.J. Hickson, Austin Daye, Jared Dudley, Marreese Speights, Dahntay Jones and James Anderson among others.
For Spurs fans and staff, this is great news as there could be a chance that Leonard and Anderson play together but it also heeds the safe notion that both players aren’t at risk to heading overseas during the lockout. Not only that, Anderson could share with Leonard on the ins-and-outs of the Spurs’ system and pass on any advice on what it means to be a Spur.
So tune in Spurs fans. Even though there is an NBA lockout doesn’t mean you won’t get to miss out on some basketball action.
