As reports come out that the players and owners have indeed been meeting in the hopes to get the lockout over in time for Christmas game, many San Antonio Spurs fans are just crossing their fingers in the hopes the lockout does indeed end just in time for some holiday cheer.
But until the lockout is over, AccuScore has a couple of more simulated Spurs games for fans to enjoy as this time San Antonio took on the Sacramento Kings and Oklahoma City Thunder.
After defeating the Timberwolves in the last simulation, the Spurs went on to face the Kings and wound up with a win thanks to rookie Kawhi Leonard.
Sacramento Kings 97, San Antonio Spurs 110
The Spurs shot 48 percent as a team and used a balanced attack to dismantle the Kings. Kawhi Leonard led San Antonio with 18 points on just 8 shots while Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, DeJuan Blair, and Tim Duncan all scored between 10 and 13 points. John Salmons had a monster game for the Kings with 29 points.
However, the Spurs ran into a buzz saw in the form of the Thunder, as youth was served over experience despite Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili’s heroics.
Oklahoma City Thunder 120, San Antonio Spurs 115
In a match-up of two of the best teams in the league the youthful Thunder came out on top against the veteran Spurs. Kevin Durant continued his MVP campaign by getting 40 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals, and hitting 4 of 8 three-pointers. He had to be big too as Russell Westbrook missed the game due to injury. Daequan Cook stepped up in added minutes with 13 points on 3-5shooting from three. San Antonio was led by Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili who combined for 36 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists. The Thunder won the battle of the boards ending up +9 overall and +3 in offensive rebounds.
OK so who is ready for real NBA action and no more simulations? I know I am.
