The San Antonio Spurs are on the brink of history, no team has even gone 15 straight games winning on the road. But the Silver and Black don’t care about that – just getting better each game.
Kawhi Leonard scored 31 points as the Spurs continued their winning ways on the road with a 105-91 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves inside the Target Center on Tuesday night.
It’s Leonard’s sixth 30-point game of the season, after having just four last season.
”Now I have game experience under my belt,” Leonard said. ”That’s what you need to get better, get comfortable – see the ball go through the net in the game.”
Patty Mills added 15 off the bench, while Kyle Anderson and Pau Gasol each added 11 for San Antonio, who improved to 13-0 on the road with the win.
The victory for San Antonio moved them into sole possession of second place for the best road start of all-time, behind the Golden State Warriors 14-0 start last season.
Tony Parker did not play after suffering a knee injury last night in Milwaukee.
The Timberwolves were led by Zach LaVine’s 25 points. Karl-Anthony Towns had 11 points and 14 rebounds for Minnesota (6-16), who fell after a win in Charlotte.
”You have to eliminate all the ways in which you beat yourself first,” Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau said. ”So we have to understand that, we have to improve in that area.”
Up next: The Spurs are now 18-4 on the season and will return to the court on Thursday when they close out their three-game road trip against Jimmy Butler and the Chicago Bulls at 8:30 p.m.
