Spurs’ scouts at Syracuse-Florida game

The NBA season may be starting up soon but that doesn’t mean the San Antonio Spurs aren’t looking to the future.

According to cbssports.com, Spurs’ scouts are at the Syracuse-Florida matchup in a meeting between the the third and ninth ranked college teams in the nation.

Scouts for the Knicks, Spurs, Grizzlies, Suns, Bulls, Raptors and Cavaliers were at the Carrier Dome for the game.

As mentioned, these are two of the top-10 teams in the nation and with talent on both squads, it’s no wonder the Spurs are in attendance doing their homework early before the 2012 NBA Draft.

Interesting to note, playing for Syracuse is 6-7 forward Kris Joseph, the cousin of Spurs rookie Cory Joseph. Could the Spurs be looking at Cory’s cousin?

Another player who is getting lots attention from scouts, according to Project Spurs’ Jake Faunce, is Florida’s 6-9 forward Patric Young.

Leave it to the Spurs to already be looking forward to ensure the team’s future is bright.
