Saturday night’s 6-4 win over the Astros and Wandy Rodriguez to recapture first in the NL Central was highlighted by J.J. Hardy’s 3rd homer in his 3rd consecutive game…then his 4th. The pair of Hardy homers plated 3 runs on the night, pleasing Brewers fans and Hardy’s fantasy owners alike. The top of the order went 5-for-12 (.416) on the night, and scored 4 of the 6 runs. Brewers starter Chris Capuano earned his 3rd win of the season to go 3-0, despite giving up 4 ER in 6 IP and raising his ERA to 3.68. Coco Cordero finished off Houston in the 9th for his 6th save of the season. Former Brewer Carlos Lee (shown above in apparent awe of the power of shortstop and former teammate J.J.), went 1-for-5, but drove in two of the Astros’ runs. The Crew moves onto the rubber match Sunday with the David vs. Goliath matchup…David Bush vs. Goliath Roy Oswalt. Bush is 2-0, 2.17 ERA lifetime against the Astros over 4 starts, with 24 K’s in 29.0 IP. Let’s hope he still has his slingshot.
