The St. Charles Chill are looking for new owners. The team previously announced in May that it would be ceasing operations, but a new report from Andy Strickland suggests there’s an attempt to find new owners for the team in order to return for the 2015-16 season.
Letters are currently being sent out to business people in the local hockey community searching for buyers for the St. Charles Chill.

The letter states the Chill are hoping to resume play in 2015-2016. Franchise has been iced for this season #stcharleschill

The Chill were awful last season. They finished last in the 10-team CHL with just 11 wins and 28 points. To put that in perspective, the 9th-place squad (Wichita) had 27 wins and 63 points. Attendance was slightly better, coming in 7th in the CHL with an average of 2,585 fans a night.
There hasn’t been much discussion regarding the Chill since they elected to cease operations. The team’s website has been shuttered. It’s nice to hear a renewed attempt to save the Chill, but you have to wonder how feasible hockey in St. Charles might be considering the failed experiment in 2013-14.
