Have you seen the ‘Rally Runner’?
He’s the dude wearing Cardinals gear and red face paint that runs around the outside of Busch Stadium during home games.
Here’s a video:
St. Louis Magazine tracked (chased?) him down recently for their ‘Inside Info‘ section and asked for a little more info.
Here are a few (first person) nuggets from the piece:
- I never go inside the stadium. I only stay outside.
- I know I’m a key part in how the Cardinals do.
- In 2013 and 2014, during the innings I ran, the Cards scored a run every 1.98 innings. While not running, they scored a run every 2.53. The whole purpose was to get the momentum on the Cards’ side while I run. And these stats prove that.
- A lot of fans know me, but sometimes they don’t know what to think about me. I want to bring fans together. I don’t want it to be about me.
Next time you’re at the game, make sure to say hi. You can go over to his Facebook page for more info.
