Dave Lozo at NHL.com reports that Lightning forward Martin St. Louis left practice Thursday morning after taking a puck in the face from teammate and former Ranger Dominic Moore at Madison Square Garden.

Lightning General Manager Steve Yzerman said this about St. Louis’ status for tonight’s game against the Rangers…

“I assume he won’t be able to play tonight.”

…Rangers catch a big time break here.

…thanks Dom. I knew I liked you for a reason.

To make matters worse, St. Louis was to appear in his 500th consecutive regular season game tonight (via Tampa Bay Online).
