Joe@Buffalowins (8-4)- We got probably the two biggest ego driven coaches in the NFL squaring off on Sunday. Chip and Rex both think they are God’s gift to offense and defense. They are so in love with their own systems that they’d get rid of star players who don’t fit it just so they can get their own people in. Anyways, the Eagles aren’t very good and are lucky to be in a shit division. I think their win against NE last week was a complete fluke with how they scored TDs. They are 15th in offense and their passing game has been bad. They are 26th in QB rating (82.1) and have just 17 passing TDs. I’ve never liked Bradford since he’s been in the league. The Eagles running game hasn’t been nearly as good as they were when Shady was there as they are averaging 4.0YPC and have had 5 games where they have rushed for less than 90 yards.
They have also turned the ball over 2+ times in 6 games this year. The Bills biggest obstacle is containing Jordan Matthews (61 catches for 661yds) and both the Eagles TEs in Celak/Ertz (61 catches combined for 4TDs). We know the Bills have had issues with the middle of the field and Darby has struggled lately. With Gilmore out of the lineup, this will be a concern with Matthews. On defense, Philly is ranked 25th and have allowed the 2nd most TD passes (28). They have also given up the 6th most rushing yards in the league. The Eagles have been Johnny on the spot with forcing turnovers as they are 6th in INTs (14) and have scored 5TDs off special teams and defense. Overall, the defense has forced 3 or more turnovers in 4 of their games. So, my heart says the Bills will lose this game because they always seem to do this to us, but my mind says that they are the better team here. I’m going with my mind for a change. 30-24, Bills.
Scott Michalak (@ScottyMCSS) (9-3) Boy, we we all wrong about what JJ Watt was going to do last week. It seems the Bills may be finally working out how to work under their new coach, and maybe, just maybe, it’s not too late. Rex has his team alive and kicking – and not taking dumb penalties – as they prepare for their trip to Philly. Tyrod and Sammy are making some monster plays, and that trend should get better as the coaching staff will devise ways for Sammy to get more looks in the 2nd half. (Of course, if the Eagles have to drop back to cover Sammy, then the Bills’ coaches should have a vast set of plays ready to help unleash McCoy, who is hungry to get his just revenge on Chip.) The Bills should stay alive this week, letting us all keep week 17 versus the Jets circled on the calendar as the game that could end the playoff drought. Bills 33, Eagles 24.
Mike McKenzie (@mack10zie) Buffalo (-1) and Philadelphia Don’t be fooled by Philly upsetting NE last week. Of their 35 points, the offense only generated 14 points. This team’s offense is complete and total garbage. Even with a banged up D, I think Buffalo can handle this O. I think Philly can’t score over 20 on BUF, and right now, I like BUF O, especially when you consider all the ESPN made controversy of bashing McCoy this week (I’m looking at you Herm Edwards). McCoy was going to go off in this game prior to all that, but I’m expecting even bigger things from him now. Tyrod and Sammy seem to be finding a rhythm as well. I like Buffalo comfortably in this one 27-17.
Michael Necci (@manecci ?-?) The Bills remaining scheduled is in their favor and they have the talent to win out and finish 10-6 and see where the chips fall. But, these are the Bills so we know that won’t happen. Eagles 27 Bills 20
Brett Ludwiczak – @BLeez17 – 7-5- The Bills kept their playoff hopes alive last week with the win over Houston, and now they aren’t actually in a terrible spot. These next 4 games are winnable games, but of course something will go wrong because this is Buffalo. Just because the Eagles beat New England last week I don’t think all is fixed with Chip Kelly’s team. LeSean McCoy will want to have a huge game and Tyrod does Tyrod things as the Bills make it 2 in a row. Buffalo 31 Philadelphia 21
Mike Migliore (@mmigliore) Record: 6-6- Well congratulations, Bills. You’ve managed to keep all of us interested in this season for at least one more week. The Bills are back at .500 and can stay “in the hunt” by beating the Chip Kellys on Sunday in Philadelphia, a city where little usually goes right for Buffalo sports teams besides Michal Grosek’s overtime winner in 1998 and 7-1 in Game 6 in 2006. I think the Bills won there a couple of times in the ’90s, but the Bills beat everyone back in the ’90s (except in the Super Bo..*crushed by crate of Zubaz*)
I’d like to picture LeSean McCoy preparing for this game this week by running through the streets of South Philly while being chased by a huge group of school children. He ends up running up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, jumping up and down and throwing a few punches at the top. Do you think he has a picture of Chip on his mirror that he crumples up during a training montage? Anyways, the Eagles are not very good despite their win over the Patriots last week. They can’t stop a nosebleed on defense. However, they should have an advantage against the Bills depleted secondary. We’re looking at Leodis McKelvin starting at cornerback and Nickell Robey having to cover Jordan Matthews in the slot. The Bills are probably going to need 30+ to win this game, and I’m not sure the offense has enough firepower to do it. Prediction: Eagles 34, Bills 24
Sean – @SeanCorleone (8-4)- Well guys and gals, we have at least one more week to hold onto a dream of actually making the playoffs. The scenario for doing so is simple: Win out and hope the Steelers lose to the Bengals this Sunday. There are other scenarios for us, but all that matters is that the Bills need to take care of business. We all know who’s next. This one is for Shady. Which Philly team will show? That’s the main factor in this game. This Eagles team is coming off a win over the Patriots and find themselves in a race for the NFC East title, so they have to be riding a wave of confidence. But in reality, they beat a banged up NE team by scoring 3 non-offensive TDs, something they definitely can’t count on to happen again. On top of that, the Eagles have lost 3 games at home this year, and have only won back to back games once this season. The Bills are starting to come around offensively, and last week’s performance against a very good Texans defense leads me to believe that the production we saw last week can carry over. Every game from here on out is a playoff game. For this game, give me the team with the better defense riding the emotions of Shadys vengeance. Prediction: Bills 26 – Eagles 20, and Chip won’t shake shit.
Rich (@RDotDeuce, 6-5) – Bills are still “in the hunt”. Philly, with Shady healthy and wanting revenge seems like it’s going to be a Bills run-game slugfest. The 26th ranked rushing defense of the Eagles + Shady = greatness. I’m calling this a 28-16 Bills win. Run, Shady, run
Luke Wachob (6-6) @lukewachob – In the hunt, in the schmunt. Eagles 27-24
