Saturday described Sanders as “one of my favorite players.” They were roommates during a few training camp sessions.
“He’s a great human being,” Saturday said. “It’s just a shame that he was banged up as much as he was. He loved playing the game of football. He played it with abandon.”
The picture is still up on the side of the Luke.
Sanders, released by the team Friday, is one of five players featured on large posters on the stadium’s exterior. Now that he’s no longer a Colt, it’s only appropriate to take down the approximately 35-by-60 foot picture.
