Here’s how it shapes up:
Craw & Brooks are gone… which means Rondo is definitely coming back. Bradley & Bayless will get the heavy rotation minutes, Pressey will likely stick with the team as the 4th guard.
Joel Anthony is under contract for $3.8 million, which means the Celtics add a tiny bit of salary in this deal, which is inconsequential since the Courtney Lee deal gave them plenty of room to get away from the tax line. But he does have a $3.8 million option for next season. I’m not clear on how he fits on this roster at the moment… UNLESS… Brando Bass is the next guy out the door. Keep an eye open for that:
Here’s the deal on the protection for the first round pick, via RealGM:
Philadelphia’s 1st round pick to Miami protected for selections 1-14 in 2014 or 1-14 in 2015; if Philadelphia has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Miami by 2015, then Philadelphia will instead convey its 2015 2nd round pick and 2016 2nd round pick to Miami [Miami-Philadelphia, 6/28/2012]
What does THAT mean? If Philly makes the playoffs either of the next two years, we get their first round pick. If they miss the playoffs both years, it becomes two second round picks (2015, 2016).
