Kevin Durant recently offered his followers on Twitter a chance for a Q&A, and when he was asked if he or Stephen Curry would win a three-point contest, Durant tweeted:

Earlier on Wednesday after practice is when Mark Jackson first expounded on the topic, while describing the differences between Curry and Klay Thompson.

“The difference with Steph is the variety in which he fills out every category — probably the first guy that fills out every category — of being a great shooter that we’ve ever seen: catch-n-shoot, coming off curls, flaring, stop-n-pop, coming out to the pick and rolls,” Jackson said, “Every one of those situations. Floaters, teardrops. He’s a great shooter.”

“Klay’s a great shooter. He’s a great shooter, but he’s a guy that, coming off pick-n-pops, he’s a spot-up shooter. He’s not a guy that’s gonna split a double-team and a pick-and-roll with a guy on his back on one leg, hit a shot. He can’t do it, but he’s more traditional in a 2-guard sense,” Jackson added, “Both guys, you lock them in a gym with anybody that ever played the game, they very well may walk out the gym in a shooting contest.

“Just watching those two guys shoot after practice and before games and in games, and the frustration that sets in when they miss one, I’d be walking off like I was the baddest guy in the gym,” Jackson joked in terms of Curry and Thompson’s commitment to perfection when it comes to shooting.

Prior to last night’s loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jackson also spoke to the subject of shooting when asked about Ricky Rubio‘s struggles shooting the ball, referencing Curry’s father, Dell:

Warriors head coach Mark Jackson addressed a Minnesota Timberwolves beatwriter’s question about Ricky Rubio‘s suspect shot, referencing how Jackson used to shoot against the likes of teammates like Chris Mullin, Reggie Miller, Dell Curry, Allan Houston, Eddie Johnson, and Dale Ellis. After the quote, he added that he lost a lot money to those guys in the process. Jackson also commented on Curry’s incredible array of shots that he’s able to make.

Later that game, ironically, Curry would convert a four-point play against Rubio.
