What I’m hearing is… he’s obviously strongly considering and leaning towards staying but it’s not etched in stone.
The bottom line, the relationship has worn on one another. There are no situations where Doc Rivers does not like or does not respect Danny Ainge, it’s nothing like that. It’s just after working with someone for years and years and years, you’re willing to entertain new challenges.
… things in Boston are not what they used to be. Not for any negative reasons, it’s just that working with somebody all the time, you get tired of hearing the same voice, you get tired of seeing the same face. And when it comes to Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers that very well may be the case. Doc Rivers hasn’t told me that but those are the kinds of things I’ve been hearing…
I’m a bit disappointed that Rece Davis didn’t ask Stephen if there were any new developments on the absurd KG, Pierce and Doc Rivers to the Clippers for Blake Griffin, Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler trade scenario Smith’s blowhole secreted last month.
I understand the “tired of the same voice/face” point. I’ve worked with John in various capacities for the past 12 years. Trust me, I get it.
After my last “incident,” we decided it’s best to work remotely.
