I’m a member of a program from ABC called Insider Access and every once in a while I receive e-mails about network programming that for the most part doesn’t interest me, I got an e-mail that caught my eye. Normally, I pay no attention to “The View“, however, ABC Insider Access mentioned that men will be moderating the panel over the next few days. And again, while that would normally not get my attention, the following announcement did. Apparently former ESPN’er and current Fox Sports Radio morning host Stephen A. Smith will be moderating the panel on Thursday. He’ll join MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough of “Morning Joe”.
This apparently is a ratings stunt, but Stephen A. “A is for Apathy” Smith? Here’s the schedule for the male moderators for the next few days.
6/16 – Bryant Gumbel
6/17 – Joe Scarborough and Stephen A. Smith
6/18 – Bryant Gumbel
6/21 – Tom Bergeron and Jay Mohr
6/22 – D.L. Hughley and Thomas Roberts
6/29 – Jesse Tyler Ferguson
7/2 – Sam Champion
Bryant Gumbel has a sports connection and so does Jay Mohr, but none of these people make me want to watch. I like Bryant Gumbel and always have, but moderating “The View”? Strange.
And what exactly is Stephen A. Smith going to talk about with the women?
