PALAU SANT JORDI, BARCELONA, SPAIN — The spotlight shone bright this afternoon on Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry as he scored 11 points in a span of three minutes to help widen a 15-point halftime lead USA Basketball’s Men’s National Team (#USABMNT) had over Mexico into a 28-point bulge by the end of the quarter.
After their last win against the Ukraine two nights earlier, Curry said that he had to be ready and that was one of the main challenges of being a member of #TeamUSA.
After the game at the post-game press conference, Curry said he hasn’t really changed his approach or had particular expectations.
“As the roster shapes the way it is,” Curry said, “you understand what’s needed of you and to be comfortable and real, as you go through the process. That’s how it’s happened.”
Curry went on to tally 20 points on 6-for-9 from three-point range as Team USA disposed of Mexico, 86-63.
“Nothing really about my expectations changed,” Curry explained further, “You can’t really foresee how it’s gonna shape out til you get here. (I’m) just living in the moment and enjoying it. That’s kind how i’m doing it.”
