Cutting players is not the easiest job in the world as many coaches will tell you and trimming down the roster is the hardest part of the job. In the case of Patriots C/OG Bryan Stork, injuries have piled up and multiple concussions to the third year player out of the ACC powerhouse Florida State have led to the decision of Belichick and the staff to cut Stork from the roster and letting him into free agency.
Stork was only a rookie when he got his Super Bowl ring and started in Super Bowl XLVIII against the Seattle Seahawks. Since he entered the NFL, Stork has started 17 games for the Patriots and played in 21 games total over two seasons and entering his third season, teams will be very cautious if they want to work out Stork due to the history of injuries.
Drafted in the 4th round (105th overall) in the 2014 draft out of Florida State, Stork’s injury mess started in college and it has lingered through his NFL career. During the Seminoles championship run in 2013, Stork was named the best center in college football with the Rimington Trophy. In 2013, Stork had his best season by starting every single game and proved he was reliable.
Thank you Bryan for what you did for New England!
