The struggling Indiana Pacers will take any win they can get these days, and they did so tonight against the cellar-dwelling Minnesota Timberwolves.
It wasn’t easy, however, as the Pacers needed just about each one of CJ Miles’s 28 points to eke out the 100-96 victory. Miles, as streaky as ever, was 10-18 from the field, including 4-11 from three-point range. He also hit 4 of 4 free throws down the stretch (around a pair of misses from Luis Scola) to help the Pacers hold on for the win.
David West used his experience against the young Wolves to score an efficient 14 points on 7-9 shooting, while Roy Hibbert had one of his more proficient games with 15, 8 and 4 blocks. Donald Sloan and Luis Scola added 10 points apiece.
The Pacers improve to 9-19 for the season and miraculously just 3 games south of the playoff picture in the dreadful East. Next up, New Orleans at home. Good luck stopping Anthony Davis.
