Streaky Sox Drop 3 in Oakland

The clouds gave way to a beautiful sunny day in the East Bay but the Red Sox road woes continued. Boston jumped to an early lead when Big Papi hit one deep to right but Lester quickly gave one run back in the bottom of the inning. Manny’s night of rest helped as he went 3-4 at the plate today but #499 still eludes him (so did a fly ball to left). Sox fans were well represented at the game today but there was not much to cheer about. The Red Sox leave the Bay Area for Seattle no longer atop the A.L. East and with the Yankees showing up in the rear view mirror.
