SUCKA FREE 16: Who didn’t suck in the NBA last week

D-West!

These players didn’t suck on the week of March 29-April 5.

David West of the New Orleans Hornets didn’t suck
Last week: 28pts, 9.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists
“The 17-foot Assassin” tied his career high with 40 points (10 for 10 from the FT line) in their one-point win over the Sacamento Kings.  He also battled through an ankle injury last week and followed up his 40 pt performance with another huge game against the Warriors with 31 pts and 14 boards.

Monta Ellis of the Golden State Warriors didn’t suck
Last week: 1 game, 42pts, 9 reb, 9 assists, 2 steals & 1 block
In the 143-141 overtime victory over the Sacramento Kings, Monta Ellis had a career night with 42 pts, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in what may have been his last game of the season.  He landed awkardly on his surgically repaired ankle during the game and with only a handful of games left, Mr. Ellis may be done.

Ramon Sessions of the Milwaukee Bucks didn’t suck
Last week: 16.7, 6 reb, 12.3 assists 2 steals
Milwaukee Bucks have been lucky to land this former D-Leaguer as he notched his first career triple double against the Lakers.  Sessions had 16 pts, 16 assists and and 10 boards becoming the first D-Leager to record a triple double.

Mike Conley of the Memphis Grizzlies didn’t suck
Last week: 21.3 ppg, 4.3 reb,  6.7 assists, 2.3 steals
Conley had a good stretch of games last week including a nice line against the Bucks with 17 pts, 4 threes, 6 boards, 9 assists and 2 steals.  The Ohio State product has been getting it done on both ends averaging 2.3 steals last week and has had at least 3 three threes in the 4-game stretch.

The Memphis Grizzlies didn’t suck
Last week: Won 4th game in a row
They may be out but they played one of their best stretches of basketball last week.  The knocked off Golden State, Washington, Dallas and Milwaukee and apparently scoring over 100 pts is their magic number as they scored over 100 in each of their wins.  Big ups to the Grizz!
