RECORD LAST WEEK: 16-11-1 (Let’s face it, no one saw Adrian Peterson being arrested)
OVERALL: 19-16-1
Tampa Bay at Atlanta
Start: Bobby Rainey, RB, TB
Doug Martin looks to be out again with a knee injury, and Rainey had a big night last week. Someone on the Tampa offense has to do something, and Rainey is the hot hand.
Sit: Matt Ryan, QB, ATL
Which Matt Ryan at we going to get this week? With a banged up Roddy White and Julio Jones, Ryan may not have the night his team would want.
San Diego at Buffalo
Start: Antonio Gates, TE, SD
The reports of Antonio’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. Ladarius Green will have to wait his turn. Till then, Rivers will find Gates early and often against the Bills defense.
Sit: C.J. Spiller, RB, BUF
Other than a 47-yard sprint last week, Spiller carried 11 times for 22 yards. Fred Jackson and Bryce Brown get attention, and that will make using Spiller a risk.
Dallas at St. Louis
Start: Zac Stacy, RB, STL
This will be the week for Stacy, who faces the league’s worst run defense. If he cannot perform this week, when will he perform?
Sit: Tony Romo, QB, DAL
His role was reduced somewhat last week with DeMarco Murray having a huge game. That looks to repeat this week as well.
Washington at Philadelphia
Start: Nick Foles, QB, PHI
Philly is making a habit out of coming from behind. Foles is how it is happening.
Sit: Pierre Garcon, WR, WSH
Robert Griffin III found him ten times week one, but Kirk Cousins barely glanced his direction in favor of Niles Paul and Andre Roberts. Start at your own risk.
Houston at New York (N)
Start: Houston Defense
A running game that cannot seem to run + the top defense in the NFL = a horrible night for the Giants.
Sit: Eli Manning, QB, NYG
This will be an unhappy night for Manning.
Tennessee at Cincinnati
Start: Giovani Bernard, RB, CIN
DeMarco Murray just shredded the Tennessee defense, and with A.J. Green slowed, the Bengals will need to get balance on the ground.
Sit: Jake Locker, QB, TEN
If the Bengals defense that stifled Matt Ryan (and not the one that made Joe Flacco look like Joe Montana) shows up, Locker will have a long day.
Baltimore at Cleveland
Start: Steve Smith, WR, BAL
This may not be his prime in Carolina, but as Joe Flacco’s favorite target, he will do some work with Joe Haden locking down Torrey Smith.
Sit: Terrance West, RB, CLE
Baltimore has held back some good running backs this season, and with Isaiah Crowell stealing carries, West has small upside this week.
Green Bay at Detroit
Start: Jordi Nelson, WR, GB
Nelson had an absurd game last week against the Jets, and it is hard to imagine he will not have another big game in a crucial NFC North game.
Sit: Detroit Defense
Rodgers got red hot last week, Eddie Lacy will break out sooner or later, this seems like a bad week to go against Rodgers.
Indianapolis at Jacksonville
Start: Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, IND
If the last two games were not an indicator, Trent Richardson is barely an NFL running back. Bradshaw played well supplanting Richardson, and will get the bulk of the points against the Jags defense.
Sit: Toby Gerhart, RB, JAX
Seven carries … eight yards … and an injury (although a minor one). Do I need to say more?
Oakland at New England
Start: Stevan Ridley, RB, NE
Oakland has the worst run defense in the NFL so far, why would you not use Ridley in a game Oakland will likely be playing from behind in?
Sit: Darren McFadden, RB, OAK
Run DMC is no more. The chance he could shatter into tiny pieces any second means that starting him is a huge risk.
Denver at Seattle
Start: Percy Harvin, WR, SEA
The Denver pass defense is suspect, and Harvin will be the likely benefactor of that.
Sit: Peyton Manning, QB, DEN
The memories of the Super Bowl combined with the extremely hostile atmosphere in Seattle will make it hard for Manning to be his Top-10 self. I expect a few interceptions to go with 300 yards passing.
