It has been reported today that ESPN has parted ways with Joe Morgan and Jon Miller. They have been a duo together for Sunday Night Baseball for 21 years. The article states that ESPN has parted completely with Joe Morgan and they have asked Jon Miller to return to radio.
Next season there will be no BEL-TRAY and I have to say….that makes my heart happy.
“We’ve decided to make a change and introduce new voices and new perspective,” Norby Williamson, an executive vice president of ESPN, told the New York Times. “21 years is an eternity in this business. And today is about acknowledging the contributions they made to the franchise.”
They haven’t said who they plan on replacing them with just yet…so we’ll just have to see. All I have to say is that they better keep their mits of the likes of Don and Remy.
