After being out most of the day and having a very late dinner, I’m catching up on a couple of episodes from today’s Season 2 marathon of Mad Men that I had recorded on DVR. Let me give you some links while I’m watching last week’s episode.
I’ll start with Newsday’s Neil Best who has a couple of things today. First, he managed to find Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s tape of when she was a weekend sportscaster in the 1980’s. Neil also has an open letter from Philadelphia sports radio talk show host Jody McDonald who recently underwent heart surgery.
The Sports Media Watch has its weekend ratings predictions. The SMW has a look at the ratings for this year’s NFL exhibition games. And here are some idle notes from the SMW.
Maury Brown of the Biz of Baseball says Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz will be joining TBS’ team of analysts for the postseason.
From the Biz of Football, Maury has a transcript of Dan Patrick’s interview with NFL Commish Roger Goodell in which the big man told Dan that the league plans to expand to 18 regular season games as early as 2010.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Bob Wolfley has ESPN’s Ron Jaworski high on Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.
Mike Tankersley of the Montgomery (AL) Advertiser writes that the SEC deal with ESPN will have an impact on local TV stations airing the Raycom package of syndicated games.
Brian Hedger of the Gary (IN) Post-Tribune says last year’s Appalachian State-Michigan game really helped to put the Big Ten Network on the map.
Thomas Zambito of the New York Daily News reports that a sexual harrassment suit against ESPN’s Jay Crawford and Woody Paige has been thrown out of court.
