Jon Lester is not only an all star on the field, but off the field as well with his charitable work. Lester has been involved with The Jimmy Fund as well as his own personal charities. Last year Lester was a part of the Charity Wines selling the CabernAce to support the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center where Lester received treatment himself.
This year Lester has been working with the #NVRQT (Never Quit) Campaign to support the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF). He’s been very active on twitter supporting the campaign this season. The campaign is now offering a cool t-shirt which not only raises awareness, but also money for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. The shirt retails for $29 and 100% of the profits go to PCRF. The shirt has a quote from the movie ‘The Wedding Crashers’ which says “Rule #76: No Excuses, Play Like A Champion!” Lester asked fans on twitter a while back what movie they should do a quote from and this was the winner. The shirt also has a baseball, Lester’s signature and his number.
