Swept by the Os…Say It Ain’t So!

I wasn’t able to get the game updates…mainly because I was at the games this weekend.   Here is the short version of a recap.

Saturday:  Aaron Cook’s first start with the Sox.  He covered the plate and almost had his knee taken off.  He came back on the mound even though he couldn’t feel his leg.  He then gave up a bajillion runs.  Sox bats could only score 2 runs.  Sox lose.  O’s win.  Sox 2  Orioles 8  BOXSCORE

Sunday:  Buchholz took the mound hoping to right the ship.  Unfortunately, the ship is still sinking.  Clay gave up 5 runs, got pulled from the game.  Luckily, Tommy Hunter gave up 5 runs himself.  A true gem of the game is that Will Middlebrooks hit his first HR in the majors and it was a game tying GRAND SLAM!  It was a thing of beauty.  In the 9th, the Sox were locked 6-6 and heading for extras.  The Sox bullpen pitched inning after inning without allowing a run to score.  The bullpens got so depleted that both teams had to send position players to the mound.  Davis pitched for the Os and Darnell McDonald pitched for the Sox.  In the 16th inning, the Sox sent Marlon Byrd and he was thrown out at home.  No walk off tonight.  Then in the 17th, DMac gave up a 3 run HR to Adam Jones.  Davis pitched another scoreless innings and the Os won.  Adrian Gonzalez went 0 for 8 on the night, including being struck out by Davis.  DMac took one for the team and did the best he could.  He’s a hero as far as I am concerned.  Sox 6  Orioles 9  BOXSCORE

Also…I was on TV when a ball went into the stands right near me.  So, there’s that!
