Just like nearly every fight promotion company in the world, Southwest MMA’s (SWMMA) inaugural show encountered more than a few hurdles. However, despite a number of fights having to be scratched from the fight card an exciting amateur MMA card took place on a cold night in January. Critically, the fight and SWMMA’s production was a hit.
Never one to give up, Southwest MMA regrouped and this Sunday will present a fight card that many feel to be one of the best amateur promotions to hit the DFW Metroplex. “Battle at the Buffalo” will be a 10-bout fight card taking place live at the Cape Buffalo Grill in Dallas (Addison). Headlining the event will be the Machado-trained kick boxer Even Thompson taking on Thein Nguyen fighting out of Texas House of Champions.
It promises to be a great event at a great venue and according to Southwest MMA’s AJ Soliz bigger and better cards are the future of SWMM. Tickets have been going fast which is a good sign as attending a live fight card is something that every sports fan should encounter in their life.
