Well, here it is: episode four of The 6th Sens Podcast!

I recorded it sans @creecher1200 (you were missed, dude), but was joined on the show by TSN.ca‘s Travis Yost (@travisyost) and founder and first owner of the Ottawa Senators, Bruce Firestone (@ProfBruce).

With the revelation of the LeBreton’s Flats proposals, it was fitting to get a little perspective from Bruce on the NCC and how he felt about each of the two proposals, as well as the possibility of the Senators developing their west end property or even retrofitting the Canadian Tire Centre in the event that they lose the bid.

Bruce’s book, ‘Don’t Back Down: The real story behind the founding of the Ottawa Senators’, has also recently become available in paperback and can be purchased for $20. That $20 price also includes the digital e-book version as well, so it’s a pretty damn good deal, so if you’re  interested in the history of the Ottawa Senators or the economics driving the sport, buy it now! It can be purchased via Bruce’s online store.

While you’re doing that online shopping, I also encourage you to take the time and visit our Patreon page to help support and sustain our podcast.

What is Patreon?

It’s a crowdfunding site that allows an audience to help support content creators whose work you enjoy. Patreon allows you to support this podcast and cover expenses like registering for a pro Soundcloud page (allowing us unlimited upload storage space for our podcasts) while also allowing us to invest in more or better equipment which will help make this podcast as good as it can be. Right now, my goal is to fund our SoundCloud page and help recoup the costs of the investment made to buy our new equipment. It’s a bit of an ambitious goal, but I think it’s manageable. Also, to those of you who have already donated, I can’t thank you enough. I’m hoping that in the near future, we can organize a beer night to watch an out of town game. I’d also like to set up the rewards program for Patreon to entice more donations. If anyone has any suggestions for prospective rewards, please submit them in the comment thread.

If Patreon isn’t your thing, no worries. The podcast is still  free to download. You can subscribe to it via Itunes where if you want to submit a review of the podcasts, that’d be great. You can also access the podcast by streaming it using SoundCloud or by visiting our Patreon page.
