There is being on the Bubble, and there is Quincy Black’s living on the Bubble; which is two spheres indeed. Not only could the Bucs decide to move on from Black’s tenure at Sam or Strong Side linebacker, but Black was playing in a contract year in 2010, and he is a free agent now. The Bucs have been said to be willing to resign Black at the right price, but that was before the injury.
By all accounts, Black’s injury has healed nicely, and he is even ahead of schedule on his rehab. The Chargers (Rich Bisaccia) and Redskins (Bruce Allen) have expressed interest in Black, to no ones surprise as those people listed have a hands on knowledge of Quincy; Bisaccia coached special teams when Black led the Bucs in 2008 with ST tackles, and Bruce Allen is the former Bucs GM to drafted him.
But the Bucs are not overly happy with the sporadic linebacker play of recent years, and they may be looking to upgrade the positions.
