The History: Hey! It’s the third sponsor in four years! That’s a tradition that must be preserved… It’s probably a message that the “Gifts” include a black winter coat and pair of gloves- reminds me of my favorite edition of this thing– It ain’t south Florida, fellas- pray for global warming.

Utah StateToledo Scouting Report- The Rockets opened their season with an overtime loss to one of this morning’s competitors, the Arizona Wildcats, but didn’t see another loss until they fell to Ball State in week 10, which includes an upset of the University of Chick-Fil-A. Terrance Owens has thrown for over 2600 yards, and both Benard Reedy and Alonzo Russell are on target to both be thousand yard receivers. Toledo is 59th in the country in points against… it looks like they hope to just overwhelm the opposition offensively.

Buckeye Connection– Ohio State is 3-0 against the Rockets, including last year’s five point squeaker at the hands of Joe Bauserman and 2009’s “Dane Sanzenbacher Fiesta” in Cleveland. I have no doubt that this year’s team would fall to Ohio State, although an early season matchup might have looked similar to the Cal game in many ways

Utah StateUtah State Scouting Report – The Aggies boast the 8th scoring defense in FBS, and almost upset Wisconsin earlier in the season. They did outlast Louisiana Tech in overtime, and haven’t lost a game since early October. Kerwynn Williams has over 200o all purpose yards, and quarterback Chuckie KEeton has a 67% completion rate that’s led to over 3100 passing yards.

Buckeye Connection- The Buckeyes have never played Utah State (home of impressive gender role research). We’ll just chalk this up as a “win” based on the majesty of the transitive property with Wisconsin as the common factor.

Predictions: Here’s what we think will happen

  • Eric- Toledo
  • Gary
  • Janelle-
  • Jason- Toledo
  • Mali- Utah State
  • Tim- Utah State
  • WVa- Utah State

Utah State has proven it can play in shootouts and in close games, as well as having experience if the game goes into overtime (2-0 this season). I think that their defense will be too much for the Rockets to handle, and they’ll have the home field advantage on Southern Idaho State’s “Smurf Turf”.
