Team Lightning Joins Tampa’s Cut For A Cure

Needs more branding

In what has become a yearly sign of spring, the Tampa Bay Lightning are set to go bald for a very worthy cause.  The fifth annual Tampa Bay’s Cut For A Cure is currently raising funds and awareness for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. The Bolts represented by a group of players, staff, and even Thunderbug are going under the razor as part of this great event.

Bye, bye hair.

The event is closed to the public, but the organization will be well represented by 30 staff members on Wednesday at 1 pm. The players participating this year are Ondrej Palat, B.J. Crombeen, Radko Gudas and Mark Barberio.

Yes, Mark Barberio. He of the long, flowing, curly locks. The man who hasn’t cut his hair in two years. Barbs hinted he would wait until scoring his first NHL goal before going for a trim. After scoring his first and second goals on January 19th,  Fans will be in for a shock when they attend Thursday’s game. (Photo/ Sue Ferlita)

All of Team Lightning’s fundraising efforts will benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation and the Lightning Foundation. Donations can be made until May 2nd and you can support Team Lightning at their site here.
