Three more players from the Columbus Blue Jackets will be playing in the World Cup of Hockey. This time they will be playing for the U-23 North American team. Seth Jones, Ryan Murray and Brandon Saad will all be playing on Team North America. The preliminary roster was released today and it raised more than a few eyebrows.

It has been predicted on many websites that these three players would make the team. The surprising part of it was the fact that they all made it on the first preliminary roster. Names like Jacob Trouba and Shayne Gostisbehere were left off of the initial roster, players that many expect to make the team later on. Other names like Ryan Nugent Hopkins were left off of the initial roster, which is odd considering his GM Peter Chiarelli is also the North American GM.
The big omission on the Blue Jackets side of things was Boone Jenner. Jenner is having a breakout year and just fits under the age restriction. He would be the ideal fourth liner on this team and could bring some toughness to a highly skilled team. Time will tell who makes it, I on the other hand am ready for the puck to drop.
